What gets measured
Site civil
Bulk earthworks checked against the engineer's cut and fill volumes, detailed excavation, pavements by type in square metres, kerbs by profile in lineal metres, linemarking and signage.
Stormwater and drainage
Pipes by size and class, pits by type, OSD and rainwater tanks, subsoil drainage and outlet structures, each tied to the drainage layout it came from.
Services
Water, sewer, gas, electrical and communications conduits in lineal metres, pits and enclosures by count, trenching and bedding by run.
External works and roads
Road pavements, kerb returns, guardrail, swale drains, traffic islands and roundabout works, sawcut and match-in lines included.
Structure
Bored piers by count and depth, strip and pad footings, slabs on ground, tilt panels by count and elevation area, structural steel by member where shown.
Landscape
Soft and hard landscape areas, garden beds, trees by count, retaining and edge treatments, irrigation where documented.
How the bill is built
01. Your package structure.
If the tender splits site civil, roundabout, structure and services, the bill does too, so the numbers drop straight into your pricing sheet.
02. Every line traceable.
Each quantity is named to the drawing sheet and detail it was measured from, and the marked-up drawings are issued with the bill.
03. Rates left blank.
You get quantities; the rates are yours. A priced estimate is available if you want a total as well.
04. Questions flagged, not assumed.
Anything the drawings don't answer goes on an RFI register you can send to the consultant before you price.

Before you send the civil set
Do you price the bill or just measure it?
By default you get quantities only, in your package structure, with the rate column blank so you price it your way. If you want a total as well, ask for a priced estimate and we rate it from current Sydney civil rates.
What drawings do you need?
The civil set (layout, pavement, stormwater, details), the services drawings, and the structural set if structure is in scope, plus the tender schedule or bill template if the head contractor issued one.
Do you follow the tender's bill structure?
Yes. If the tender is split into packages, the bill is split the same way and the line numbering follows the tender schedule.
Can you measure one package only?
Yes. Stormwater only, or the roundabout only, is common when your own estimator has the rest covered.
How do you treat earthworks volumes?
We measure the cut and fill from the design surface and compare it with the engineer's stated volumes. Where they disagree, the difference is flagged on the RFI register rather than silently averaged.
